John and Vera Mae Perkins Endowed Scholarship

Must be a Mississippi resident graduating from a Mississippi high school; Must be admitted to JSU as a student in good standing; Must have a minimum ACT score of at least 20; Must have a minimum overall high school grade point average of 2.5; Must demonstrate leadership skills and good character; Must have a present desire to return after graduation to work in their home Mississippi community or to work in an economically disadvantaged community in Mississippi; Must have two letters of support from either a teacher, coach, principal, counselor, or pastor; Preference shall be given to students who come from an economically disadvantaged community; and, Preference shall be given to students who are the first generation in their family to attend college.
