Theta Sigma Omega Chapter of AKA & Juanita Sims Doty Endowed

SCHOLARSHIP ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible for the scholarship(s), candidates must meet the following criteria:
I. Must be enrolled as a full-time student at Jackson State University.
2.Must reside in one of the following counties: Forrest, Lamar, Perry, Stone or Pearl River
3.Must receive the scholarship for only one year. No recurring-awards.
4.Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0.
5.Must include a reference letter from a teacher or school official, community representative or current/previous employer. This letter should outline the applicant’s ability in academics, extracurricular activities, character and leadership (on letterhead and one-page maximum).
6.Must submit a 500-word essay on one of the following: “Why I Decided to Attend Jackson State University,” “The Advantages/Benefits of Attending a Historically Black Institution,” or “How Will an Education from Jackson State University Prepare Me for Life and My Career Goals?”
7.Must have a financial need.
