Mr. Cortlandt Gerard Thompson Annual Memorial Scholarship

-Applicants must be (ages 18 to 35 years)
-Must be resident of the State of Mississippi who need a second chance due to misdemeanor offenses. (Murderers, Armed Robbers, Rapists, etc. are ineligible). excluding traffic tickets, etc
-African American males are encouraged to apply.
• Applicants must provide verification to be considered.
NOTE: No relative or friend of a faculty member/staff; or of law enforcement is eligible; nor should they (above) have any input in the decision making. Input in the decision making for the recipient selection is for
the Scholarship Board Members only!
• Applicants must demonstrate financial need due to underprivileged status.
• Applicants are expected to be undergraduate students enrolled full-time*
(which may include on-line courses) at Jackson State University; and can
major in any field at the university.
• Recipient must maintain a 2.50 GPA or above.
• Applicants must submit an essay explaining “My Contributions to Society
with a Second Chance.”
• Again, applicants related or friends to the university faculty/staff: law
enforcement; and those who don’t have misdemeanors are not eligible to apply.
