Larry and Mary Heard Book Award

To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Must be undergraduate student currently enrolled in 12 or more hours
• Must have a cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 2.5
• Must have an unmet financial need
• First preference should be given to graduates of either Newton High School in Newton County, MS; or Coldwater High School in Tate County, MS.
• if there are no qualified students in Newton or Tate County, recipient must be a student of the State of Mississippi.
• Must be of African-American descent.
